There are many, many fine agents, intelligence analysts and counterterrorism professionals at the FBI. And they are disgusted by this stuff. But if you start pulling on the Islamophobia thread in the FBI's fabric, you hit a seam pretty soon. As I learned.
In books, orientation materials, official documents, lectures and even websites on its Intranet, the FBI teaches/taught agents that Islam seeks world domination. This is part six of my Danger Room series, with all-new disclosures, and I think it's the most powerful yet. It's also a very, very long piece, with many visual aids.
The FBI library at Quantico currently stacks books from authors who claim that “Islam and democracy are totally incompatible.” The Bureau’s private intranet recently featured presentations that claimed to demonstrate the “inherently violent nature of Islam,” according to multiple sources. Earlier this year, the Bureau’s Washington Field Office welcomed a speaker who claimed Islamic law prevents Muslims from being truly loyal Americans. And as recently as last week, the online orientation material for the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces included claims that Sunni Islam seeks “domination of the world,” according to a law enforcement source.
“I don’t think anyone with half a brain would paint 1.2 billion people of any ethnic or religious persuasion with a single brushstroke,” Mike Rolince, an FBI counterterrorism veteran who started Boston’s JTTF, tells Danger Room. “Who did they run that curriculum by — either an internal or outside expert — to get some balance?”
The FBI declined to respond directly to such questions from Danger Room. But what’s clear is that the anti-Islam sentiment in the FBI’s training and orientation isn’t the marginal problem that the Bureau portrayed in its previous public statements and press releases. It’s not a historical problem, it’s ongoing. And it will require substantial effort to root out. Not even a July warning from the office of a powerful senator was able to spur the Bureau to purge itself of its anti-Islam material.
I strongly recommend reading through to the part where I print a document that looks like one of Howard Dean's thermometers (yeah, yeah, I know it was a baseball bat during the campaign). It correlates the number of Muslims in a given country with incidents of "state-run ethnic cleansing." That is what the FBI was allowing agents to learn lies in store for America if the Muslim population is allowed to grow.
Because the piece was so long, some material had to drop out. So I may post some outtakes here in directors-cut fashion.
Great piece, but I do think you might be stretching it a bit when you go after the books in the library. If libraries were judged on the content of the books they keep in their collection there would be a lot of racist, sexist, xenophobic, bigoted libraries out there. The key isn't to censor what FBI agents can and can't check out from the FBI's library, it's to make sure they are trained and equipped to discern the wheat from the chaff. The training and education they receive directly from the FBI is far more important than the books in the library.

OK, so what are we going to do now? I mean, what do we do as Americans? We're certainly not making it difficult for anyone to come into this country, and, thanks to Bloomburg allowing the construction of that mosque where it is, we certainly are making them feel all at home and cozy. So...what do we do for an ancore? Shoot ourselves? We've actually already done that and continue to do that evry day we continue with our "leaky" borders.

@jackelpdw and Michael Clinton: That was just one point in the article; books in the library. The more damning concerns are having such material on FBI intranet and their training presentations.
Look, it's as simple as this: What do you want to do with this country? Do you want it to go forward or should we drop everything and run back to the middle ages (witch hunts and all)?
Just because certain fringe groups, claiming to be Muslims, who probably don't know a thing about Islam, have decided to show, using violence, their displeasure with what the West is doing to Muslim countries, should the U.S. turn into a tyrannical empire and Europe into a police state to "protect" their citizens?
Of course, the decision is still in our hands but not for long. Democracy and liberty are dying - not so slowly either. God help us.
