As long as all your elected representatives are statesmen and true patriots, all your military officers are committed to peace and democracy, as long as your judiciary is fearlessly independent and your press is well funded and unfettered. As long as there is very little corruption, and the wealthy and powerful genuinely care about the well-being of the whole community. As long as special interest and ideological fundamentalist groups are offset by a powerful rule of law that defends the indefensible and protects the powerless.

An experiment in governance, a time of courage, a commitment to basic liberty, a miracle.
